Musical and Scientific Education: Audio Visual Production Workshop
Location
Brightonart presents the Netsounds audiovisual production workshop. This event is in association with Same Sky and occurs in the frame of “THE GREAT ESCAPE” Festival - Brighton UK.
Thank you to everyone that attended the AudioVisual workshop and made it such a success. For thos that weren't there:
Brightonart lead an audiovisual production workshop & networking event, focused around their Pompidou Centre commissioned interactive installation 'Gridio' www.gridio.com
Students and educators were invited to join this workshop where participants were helped through the process of creating their own Gridio audio-visual composition. At the end of the event the day's compositions were loaded onto the actual Gridio installation, which was installed specially for the event in the workshop space. Participants were then able to experience their own interactive composition.
In addition, stakeholders from the Netsounds network and participants in the Great Escape Festival Convention were invited to observe the audio visual workshop, and to take part in a networking event focused around audiovisual musical production. The event was publicised in the Great Escape Convention programme, which can be viewed on the Great Escape website or via this direct link:
Great Escape Convention Programme
The Great Escape has established itself as the leading event in Europe for showcasing new talent from around the world, aimed at 'export ready' bands and Industry Professionals. TGE takes place in Brighton, UK over three days and nights every May with a total attendance of over 15,000 people including 5,000 industry professionals. A variety of insightful industry talks, panel debates, targeted networking sessions and key note interviews are run alongside performances from 350+ new local and international artists, themed parties and club nights in over 34 different venues. The event took place in association with Same Sky.
The workshop was a great success. The participants collaborated to make an audiovisual patch of clips for the Gridio interactive installation. An open discussion around the aims of Netsounds and networking session provided some fascinating insights into the use of ICT in non-formal educational groups in the Brighton area.
